Windtalkers (2002)

Another great movie with some serious problems. First of all, where are the Chamorros in this movie? A lot of them were beheaded, set on fire in caves, put into internment camps and so on, but a good amount were still alive. Calling it the "Japanese island of Saipan" was a HUGE slap in the face in the beginning of this film. Saipan is a Chamorro island, no doubt. Anyways, enough of my ranting :P The film is about Navajo code talkers nicknamed "windtalkers" who were primarily radiomen in WWII and were an integral part of one of the most decisive battles of WWII, the battle of Saipan. If the United States would've lost the Marianas, all would've been lost. Although most WWII coverage you see is on Europe, a lot of the heavy fighting went down in the Pacific. A great movie once again, but how about a liiiiiiiittle more accuracy out of respect for the deceased Chamorros, Hollywood?
